This volume may not allow for repeat testing.
Collection Instructions: Allow specimen to completely clot (this can take up to 60 minutes). Centrifuge for 15 minutes. If the specimen is collected in a tube without a gel barrier, centrifuge and transfer the serum into a properly labeled transfer tube within 2 hours of collection.

Limitations:

In patients receiving thereapy with high biotin doses (i.e.> 5mg/day), no sample should be taken until at least 8 hours after the last biotin administration.

Interference was observed from Rheumatoid factor above concentrations up to 7000 U/mL.

False negative results can occur in patients with hypergammaglobulinemia.

Clinical Significance: The presence of CCP antibodies, when considered in conjunction with other laboratory and clinical findings, is an aid in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Approximately 70% of RA patients are positive for anti-CCP IgG, while only 2% of random blood donors and control subjects are positive.
